Public Meeting re Lowered Airspace at PDK
PDK Watch will hold an important public meeting on Wednesday, February 17, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Clairmont Baptist Church, 3542 Clairmont Road (fuller details are provided below). The meeting will focus primarily on why the FAA plans to lower airspace restrictions for Hartsfield-Jackson jets could be extremely damaging to homeowners in northeast Atlanta.
The primary issue of concern is that FAA intends to drastically lower the minimum height at which Hartsfield-Jackson jets could fly over much of northeast Atlanta. Specifically, the FAA plans to lower the Hartsfield-Jackson flight ceiling over PDK Airport and adjacent neighborhoods by 3,000 feet–from 8,000 to 5,000 feet above sea level (or just 4,000 feet above actual ground level).
