Hi there!

I’m Lisa Crowder and I have created the 30033talk.com web site to serve as a community portal for the North Decatur area.  I have lived in the University Heights neighborhood of 30033 for most of the last 40 years (excepting a few years during graduate school at the University of Georgia).

For the past several years, I have been frustrated by the fact that there was no online portal for this part of town. In my work, I spend a lot of time staying up-to-date on what’s happening in the intown neighborhoods and I have seen that many other parts of town have far more active online communities.  I kept waiting for one to appear in this area, but, as it never has, I finally decided to do something about it.

A community portal cannot survive and grow without the support and involvement of the community, so I don’t feel like there’s that much “about me” that y’all probably really want to know.  It’s really “about you” and “about what’s going on around 30033.”  The best way to discover that is to log into the forum and start or contribute to a conversation.  Before too long, we will hopefully have a thriving virtual community here that will serve to strengthen our real life community.
